Hi! Welcome to my new blog!
I am a photographer based in the Philippines. I usually do weddings and events but, like all of you readers, I'd like to think I can do any kind of photography. Here's my professional site: www.timmedrano.com. You won't find any tips there. You see, I have all these ideas that I don't write about and forget because I felt like it was really out of place in my professional blog. Anyways, I have this great idea for the new year: photography calendars. If you're like me, I have A LOT of images that are simply not used and rotting in your external drive never to be seen again. It is a very timely project to start since if you're not going to start it now, you;d have to wait next year to have a complete calendar.
Here's a screen shot of my January Calendar (please don't mind the number 26- IT WAS LATE!):
What I love about this photo idea is that it can be a supplement or even a replacement for the ever so popular the "365" project I know we have all tried to do but failed. If a 365 project is too much downsize it into 12 really great photos to last you for the year! Or if you are into the 365 thing why not have a theme for every month, right?
This tip I hope helps a lot of people getting into that slump. If you are a hobbyist, its a great project to improve you're skills, and if you are a seasoned professional this could be a great marketing material (just put your logo on it) and to exercise your conceptualization process. The important thing about this tip is for you to shoot more and you can not help but get better with photography even if you really don't want to. Whatever you do, where ever you are just remember one thing before anything else: check if the lens cap is on!
